Tourist Tours of Dubai
My city tour of Dubai is mostly by 4-wheel drive vehicle and as such is restricted to groups of no more than four passengers.
On this three and a half to four hour tour, you will take in the magnificent Burj Al Arab hotel on the beachfront at Jumeriah, Ski Dubai, the first indoor ski resort in the Middle East, and Burj Dubai the world’s tallest tower.
With the ever-changing skyline of Dubai city as a backdrop, our drive takes us to Bastakia area in the older part of Dubai with its beautifully restored historic wind tower houses, many of which are now art galleries and scenic cafes. Nearby is the Al Fahidi Fort, home to the Dubai Museum , showing life as it was for the local people in days gone by.
Temperature permitting, we will cross the creek by abra, a local water taxi, and wander into the bustling alleys and pungent streets of the old spice and gold souqs, where hundreds of shops offer the finest gold and beautiful local pearls, and an abundance of market goods ready to be bargained for.
With such a mixture of traditional culture and modern development Dubai has so much to offer the inquisitive traveller. My City Tour is designed to show the best of what this amazing city has to offer, with the added experience, knowledge and perspective of your own personal tour guide.
Or for a different day why not take a four to five hour trip out of Dubai to the Blue Souq in the neighbouring emirate of Sharjah. This wonderful building, often referred to as ‘the railway souq’ is home to hundreds of shops selling beautiful Iranian, Indian, Pakistani and Afghan carpets, delightful Pashmina Shawls, Antique Silver, Perfumes, Dhurries, Arabic coffee pots and fantastic Rosewood furniture, all under one (most importantly) air-conditioned roof. Time permitting we can then take a drive down the bustling Sharjah Corniche and see the traditional dhows being loaded up before making our way back to Dubai.
